Welcome to the new Alaskan Seibukan Karate Do Website.
Alaskan Seibukan is a non-profit organization dedicated to the teaching and preservation of Seibukan Karate and traditional Okinawan Martial Arts.  Alaska Seibukan was founded by Kyoshi Warren Berto in 1978. The first dojo was opened in Ketchikan, Alaska. Alaska Seibukan today has dojos in Ketchikan, Alaska, Craig, Alaska, Anchorage, Alaska, Bayview Washington, Steilacoom, Washington, and Custer, South Dakota.
Although the dojo's operate invidually they collectively work together in an effort to further each others efforts in training and resources.  Alaska Seibukan dojo's are all member's of the International Okinawan Shorin Ryu Seibukan Karate Association headquartered in Okinawa, Japan by Hanshi Zenpo Shimabukuro (IOSSKA).

About Seibukan
Seibukan Shorin Ryu is a style of karate developed by Master Zenryo Shimabukuro, student of the great Master Chotoku Kyan. It is neither a hard or soft style and requires power and precision as well as speed and agility. Repetition of basics and kata are the foundation of training in Seibukan Shorin Ryu. Dedicated practice of Seibukan Karate-Do is a path of self-discovery and self-improvement. Under the guidance of Sensei Zenpo Shimabukuro, Seibukan Shorin Ryu continues the legacy of its founder Master Zenryo Shimabukuro.
