Stretching prepares the body for training and helps it become more pliable and prepared for autonomous reaction by increasing the body's available range of motion. The standard stretching procedure in our dojo's are as follows:

8. Hurdler Stretch
Junbi Undo is the preparatory exercises specific to areas of the body for conditioning starting at the toes and working your way up the body to the head.
Hojo Undo are supplementary strength training exercises utilizing traditional training implements such as chishi, ishi sashi, nigiri game and body weight exercises to increase strength specific to karate training.
Kote Kitae are body conditioning exercises with a partner.
